PICU team hosts Odisha's first ever Nephrocritical care workshop.
Ankura Hospital’s Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) team, led by Dr. Subhranshu and Dr. Priyabrata, organized Odisha’s first-ever Nephrocritical Care Workshop as a preconference session to Yuvacon 2025, under the banner of IAP Odisha. This landmark event marked a significant advancement in pediatric critical care education in the state.
The workshop was attended by over 50 participants, including young pediatricians, postgraduate trainees, and budding intensivists from across Odisha. It focused on the critical intersection of nephrology and intensive care, addressing key areas such as acute kidney injury, fluid , sepsis induced AKI, hepatorenal syndrome and renal replacement therapies in critically ill children.
Renowned national and state-level faculty conducted engaging sessions, combining hands-on demonstrations, case-based discussions, and evidence-based approaches to managing complex pediatric renal emergencies. The highly interactive format was well received and praised for its practical relevance and clinical depth.
This initiative by Ankura Hospital’s PICU team reflects their strong commitment to continuous medical education and elevating pediatric care standards in the region. It also set the tone for a vibrant academic beginning to Yuvacon 2025, positioning Odisha as a growing hub for advanced pediatric critical care training and innovation under the guidance of IAP Odisha.
