New life!!
Proud to inform Team PICU – has successfully managed a 1 year 7-month-old child with severe ARDS (OI 19.3) secondary to severe pneumonia using lung-protective ventilation, prone–supine strategy, and comprehensive organ protection. After 7 days of invasive ventilation, the child was successfully extubated to NIV and showed steady recovery. Post-extubation multidisciplinary rehabilitation, including physiotherapy, oromotor stimulation, and early mobilization, played a key role. Drug withdrawal and pediatric delirium were promptly recognized and managed. The child is now stable and discharged with a robust follow-up plan. A true example of teamwork, vigilance, and evidence-based critical care.
